DRAIN SNAKING

WHAT IS A DRAIN SNAKE?

A plumbing drain snake or auger is a flexible metal tube that’s pushed through a drain until it reaches the blockage and then pushes through whatever is causing the blockage in the pipe. This drain cable is capable of reaching out from 70ft and beyond depending on the length of cable used.

HOW DOES DRAIN SNAKING WORK?
The drain snake is inserted into the drain from the sink, tub, toilet or other cleanout until it reaches the blockage. At that point we use the crank to dislodge whatever is causing the blockage in the pipe. At the end of the drain snake there are different “heads” attached that will either push through a blockage, tear it up as it spins the cable, or attach itself to the blockage so it can be pulled up through the drain.

JETTING SERVICES

HOW DOES DRAIN JETTING WORK?
The jetter is a pressure washer that uses very high water pressure, up to 3500 PSI, to clean out the buildup and remove any debris from the walls of your pipes, including roots or grease. It is environmentally safe, economical and quick. The process is done through a cleanout, an opening or drain leading into a plumbing system.

Jetting is often needed when traditional snaking does not clear the blockage. It’s also required prior to sewer lining to remove any debris so that the epoxy lining can bond correctly to the sewer line.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
High frequency drain lines will often back up on a regular basis. Jetting is a great way to save time and money. With a regularly scheduled jetting service, you can prolong the time between service needs.
Faucet

VIDEO CAMERA INSPECTION

Whether for your business, home, or potential purchase, maintaining the integrity of your pipes is essential. Tree roots, broken drain lines, separated drain lines, off-set drain lines, low spot or bow pipes are often associated with drain problems and can have a negative impact both inside and outside.
DO I NEED AN INSPECTION?
If you have reoccurring drain problems, you should consider a video inspection of the sewer line itself. Having a video inspection done is often the best (and recommended) way to see what is going on. A video inspection saves both time and money by allowing you to receive an accurate diagnosis and estimate for repairs the first time with no unnecessary destruction of your property.

TIP: If you have accidentally flushed or dropped something down the drain, a video camera inspections can be used to locate lost items.

Faucet

LEAKING FAUCETS

Even small drips can waste many of gallons of water! Be sure to check under sinks for small leaks or moisture. Always repair leaky faucets right away to avoid wasted water and a costly water bill. You can also avoid water damage to your home, fixtures and pipes.

Make sure overflow holes on tubs and vanity are clear and in good working order to prevent possible water damage to floors and ceilings from overflowing water.

GARBAGE DISPOSALS

You can extend the life of your garbage disposal by:

  • Using plenty of cold water when running it
  • Making sure you avoid overloading it
  • Never disposing of things like bones or food scraps
  • Never using a chemical drain opener
Toilet-installations

TOILET INSTALLATIONS, REMOVAL AND REPAIRS

A leaking toilet can be wasteful and expensive. You can check your toilet for leaks by adding a small amount of food coloring to the tank, and then check the toilet bowl later. If the toilet bowl water is colored, water is seeping through from the tank. If this is the case, you should have one of our servicemen come out and check to see what is causing the leak and replace the necessary parts.

TUBS & SHOWERS

To help prevent clogs in the tub and shower, fit all your drains with a strainer that catches hair and soap build up, and clean the strainer regularly.

It is also important not rinse fats or cooking oils down the kitchen sink. These items may solidify in the cold pipes and create clogs.

Avoid using liquid drain openers (like Liquid Plumber or Drano) on a drain that is completely clogged. The acidic ingredients are trapped in your pipes, and it can cause severe damage to them. If you can’t snake the drain yourself, contact a professional to do so.
